In case of sudden bleeding, pain in the lower abdomen or if unable to move from your home, you can request a gynecologist at home for early diagnosis and subsequent therapy. During the home visit it is also possible to make the pap-test and an ultrasound check.

When to call a gynecologist at home

• As periodical prevention of pathologies of the female genital system;
• In the presence of pelvic pain;
• In the presence of blood losses;
• For menstrual irregularities;
• For ovarian control;
• For control during pregnancy.

The gynecologist at home is a service offered by The Doctor At Home, home healthcare portal of Medical Service Assistance, company authorized by the Lazio Region.

How a gynecological examination at home works

The gynecological examination at home provides a thorough interrogation that allows the doctor to have information about the medical history of the patient and the women of her family, her lifestyle, her sexual habits, any symptoms accused, on diseases or interventions to which she has been subjected in the past. After the general medical examination the actual gynecological examination is performed which involves the examination of the external genitalia, vaginal exploration and examination of the breast.

If necessary, an ultrasound check can also be performed (in some cases through a trans vaginal ultrasound) to assess the health of the uterus or to verify a suspicion of pregnancy.

During the visit, the gynecologist can carry out a Pap test, which is an important examination to diagnose any inflammatory and/or infectious processes, dysplastic or neoplastic pathologies.
