Through the gastroenterological examination our specialist identifies or excludes the presence of pathologies of the organs that compose the gastrointestinal system (esophagus, stomach, intestine, colon, pancreas, liver) and establishes, if possible, a suitable therapeutic path or requires the execution of specialized examination to carry out in-depth studies.

The gastroenterologist at home is a service offered by The Doctor At Home, home healthcare portal of Medical Service Assistance, a company authorized by the Lazio Region.

How the gastroenterological examination at home works

In the first phase of the visit, the gastroenterologist gets the patient’s full medical history, collects all the informations useful to reconstruct the clinical history: symptoms, lifestyle, diseases already present, family members subject to certain pathologies.

In the second phase the doctor proceeds to the objective examination, through the palpation of the abdominal area.

If the doctor encounters specific problems, it may require further investigations, which may be carried out with a gastroscopy or a colonoscopy, an abdominal ultrasound or blood tests.
