The surgical examination at home serves to diagnose or rule out the existence of pathologies of which surgery is necessary.

It is usually the family doctor who advise the patient on a general surgical examination to confirm or rule out the suspicion of a pathology that requires surgery.

Even in cases where the family doctor is not available, the patient can certainly request a specialized consultation especially in the presence of problems already known or in pre and post-operative phases.

The surgical examination at home is a service offered by The Doctor At Home, home healthcare portal of Medical Service Assistance, a company authorized by the Lazio Region.

How the surgical examination at home works

In the first phase of the surgical examination, our specialist gets the medical history of the patient, paying particular attention to his previous diseases, to surgical intervention undergone in the past, to familiarity with certain diseases and ongoing drug treatments.

The goal is to analyse the specific problem of the patient reported by the family doctor.

In the second phase of the visit, our general surgeon carries out an objective examination of the main apparatuses of the human body, from the heart to the lungs to the abdomen, to verify the state and the potential reaction to a possible surgery.

Upon completion of the surgical visit at home, if the conditions are met, the doctor may (or may not) make arrangements for the patient to undergo surgery.

The doctor can also order further investigations, in case the visit has not led to a certain diagnosis of confirmation or exclusion of the pathology.
