In case of high fever or uncomfortable symptoms, it is possible to request a paediatric examination at home by calling +39 06 40417410 from Monday to Friday from 8.00 a.m to 6.30 p.m

The paediatrician at home is a service offered by The Doctor At Home, home healthcare portal of Medical Service Assistance, a company authorized by the Lazio Region.

When to call the paediatrician at home

The visit at home can treat and monitor any chronic diseases, symptoms or diseases typical of childhood: upper respiratory tract infections, tonsillitis, bronchitis, otitis, bronchopneumonia, exanthematic diseases or infectious diseases such as chicken pox, rubella, scarlet fever, mumps, streptococcal infections, measles and others.

Call the paediatrician at home if any of the following condition occurs suddenly:

• If you have a child under the age of 3 month who has a temperature above 38 degrees
• If you have a child over the age of 3 month who has a temperature above 39 degrees
• If the child, in addition to fever, has diarrhoea, vomit, rashes or complains about specifics pains
• If the child has respiratory problems, especially if he is less than 3 months old
• If the child fell and shows symptoms: vomit, unusual drowsiness, irritability, confusion

A paediatric visit at home may also be required as a periodic check to assess growth values.

How the paediatric examination at home works

The paediatric examination begins with the medical history. When the child is still young, the in interview is done with the parents who are invited to tell the paediatrician about behaviours, habits and everything they consider relevant in the growth of the child.

The paediatric examination involves an observation of the general state of health as well as the check of the painful area and of the reported symptoms.

Child’s weight and height are always measured, sight and hearing are checked and spontaneous movement observed.

The active participation of the parent is always very important to reassure the little patient.
