This survey is prescribed to study arrhythmias and to investigate the origin of symptoms such as: palpitations, wheezing, dizziness, and fainting.

How cardiac holter works and applies

The cardiac holter is performed by means of a small device that is placed on the chest using adhesive plates. The device records and stores the electrical activity of the heart, within 24 hours.

No special preparation in required for the examination. On the contrary, the patient is recommended to continue to carry out his normal daily activities, having only the foresight not to detach the plates from the skin.

The positioning of the holter, as well as its removal for the reading of the recorded data and the delivery of the report, takes place directly at the patient’s home.

The holter at home is a service offered by The Doctor At Home, home healthcare portal of Medical Service Assistance, a company authorized by the Lazio Region.

How pressure holter works and applies

The pressure holter is a non-invasive and painless examination that records the blood pressure within 24 hours. It is an investigation that is used in case of hypertension, pressure changes and monitoring of the effects of a drug therapy.

To carry out the monitoring with a pressure holter, a device is placed on the patient arm, that must be worn for a whole day, during which his pressure will be automatically recorded at regular intervals.

After 24 hours, the doctor returns to the patient home to remove the device, read the recorded data and process the report that will be delivered directly.
